Join thousands of enthusiastic runners at this year’s 7 Sunshine Coast Marathon – one of the country’s most-loved running events that boasts ideal running conditions and the tropical backdrop of the world-famous Sunshine Coast.
Spread over three days and offering a number of exciting distances, such as the Westpac 10km, McDonald’s Half Marathon and the Channel 7 42.2km, 7 Sunshine Coast Marathon is the perfect opportunity for runners of all ages and capabilities to set a goal, get active and raise funds for local Australian charities and groups.
Held each winter, 7 Sunshine Coast Marathon offers optimal marathon conditions that include low humidity and mild temperatures, flat running conditions and some of the most breathtaking coastal scenery in Queensland Australia. All event distances begin at the Alexandra Headland between Mooloolaba and Maroochydore, sending participants along the beach and oceanfront – passing incredible vantage points and Sunshine Coast landmarks with crowds cheering at every step of the course.
The full program of events includes the RMHC SEQ 2km, Cricks 5km, Westpac 10km, 21.1km McDonald’s Half Marathon and the 42.4km Channel 7 Marathon, which will involve various age categories with checkpoints and an overall cutoff time of six hours. Prizes will be awarded for each category along with a commemorative medal and towel for all finishers.
