Visit the Sunshine Coast in May

As the weather becomes a bit cooler during the month of May, the Sunshine Coast comes alive with even more activities that showcase the wonderful local producers of the area. You might not feel like swimming in the sea when the cold winds blow, but there is nothing more satisfying than walking along a windswept beach before heading back to enjoy your cosy Sunshine Coast accommodation. There are a number of different events on throughout the coast during the month of May, to put some action into your visit and warm up your bones.

Maleny Wood Expo : From Chainsaw to Fine Furniture

The Maleny Wood Expo will be held over the weekend of the 2^nd and 3^rd of May in the Hinterland region of the Sunshine Coast in the showgrounds of the small town of Maleny. The festival showcases some of the area’s best timber wood workers, and wood craft creations from furniture to toys, musical instruments, box makers. As well as all the wood, there is live music, local produce, gourmet foods and native plants with plenty of fun for the whole family.

Cooroora Wood and Craft Show

The Cooroora Wood and Crafts Show will be held across two locations in Cooroy during the 8^th and 9^th of May. The show will include woodworking activities, competitions, arts and crafts, show bags, timber milling, and timbers for sale, rustic furniture and refreshments. Located towards the North of the Sunshine Coast, Cooroy is located about 22 metres west of Noosa.

Noosa International Food and Wine Festival

During the weekend of the 14-17^th of May, Noosa presents its International Food and Wine Festival, which is now in its tenth year. The focus for the festival is both national and international food, wines and lifestyle, and what better location than the hub of Noosa for such an event, which is why people keep returning for the festival, year after year.  

Noosa Ultimate Sports Festival

For something a little bit different, the Noosa Ultimate Sports Festival will be held on the 23^rd and 24^th of May, with a variety of different sports events for the whole family to take part in. Whether you’d prefer swimming, running or cycling, the festival will be sure to get your blood pumping, with events to suit every one’s ability levels.
