Discover Sunshine Coast
Now that you know where to stay, it’s time to explore the Sunshine Coast’s many attractions, tours, and experiences.
Visit the Big Pineapple
The Big Pineapple is a heritage-listed tourist attraction on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. This attraction provides updated, sustainable, and modern entertainment and attractions, focusing on nature-based and activity-based tourism.
The Big Pineapple has a new attraction called the TreeTop Challenge, including high ropes and a zipline course. The new course is built on eight acres among the mature trees surrounding the Big Pineapple structure and other original buildings. The TreeTop Challenge will feature approximately 120 activities spread out over a two-kilometre course, with various challenges, including a 120m zipline. The course should take about a half-day to complete.
Do you enjoy animals? Alma Park Zoo in Brisbane has been relocated, and a new zoo for the animals has been built at the iconic Big Pineapple. The Wildlife HQ is home to over 200 animal species from all over the world, including one of the world’s largest collections of primates and a diverse range of Australian and exotic animal species, including Queensland’s only Sun Bear Maly.
Have fun at Aussie World
Want more fun and thrill? Then a theme park is the best place, like Sunshine Coast’s Aussie World. They offer various rides fun for all ages.
Begin with the simple thrill of a Giant Slide for some family fun. Yes, it’s 46 meters long, 15 meters tall, and nine meters wide, and it’s a lot of fun. Are you ready for a ride? Take, for example, the Ballroom Blitz, which appears calm but then surprises you by spinning fast and soaring 15 meters in the air.
Do you need to unwind a little? What about paying a visit to Professor Bogglesworth’s Illusionarium next? This location will lead you to the infinite universes that comprise the multiverse, a place of infinite dimensions and possibilities. Following that, Platypus Pete will take you to Platypus Ponds Mini Golf, an 18-hole classic mini-golf course. If you hit a hole-in-one, you’ll earn some bragging rights, and your name will appear on the champions leaderboard.
But if you’re looking for a thrill, Aussie World has you covered. The Mayhem Maze is a haunted old asylum with a terrifying secret in every corner. Redback is a 13-metre-high Disk’O ride with fast clockwise and anticlockwise circular rotations for extreme thrills. Finally, take a ride on SX360, the Sunshine Coast’s tallest and fastest 360-degree pendulum!
Aside from these rides and attractions, Aussie World offers unique experiences during particular seasons, such as the Aussie World Christmas Spectacular 2021, which takes place on December 18. There will be holiday shows, Christmas lights, and Santa Claus. The Ride the Night New Years Eve Special, is another event. Aussie World will be filled with entertainment, music, food, and excitement galore on New Year’s Eve, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display.
