Sunshine Coast Craft Beer & Cider Festival: 19 March 2022
Join the Sunshine Coast Craft Beer & Cider Festival at the NightQuarter for the ultimate ‘ex BEER ience.’ For as little as $25, attendees can enjoy over 20 local Australian brewers and cideries, over 100 taps of craft brews, and six hours of live entertainment.
It includes admission to the NightQuarter night markets, which are open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. The market features additional stages, carnival games, dodgems, food stalls, themed bars, and other attractions.
The Mooloolaba Mile Ocean Swim: 27 March 2022
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the World Series Swim Mooloolaba Mile, and they’re celebrating some epic new features.
The main event is the 1.6km Mooloolaba Mile. The distance is ideal for a wide range of abilities and is a natural progression from traditional short course events. The Mooloolaba 5.0, a marathon distance course designed for seasoned swimmers looking to push their limits, will be introduced in 2022.
Other events include the Mooloolaba 3.0, a popular distance that is a good step up from shorter swims. The Mooloolaba Half Mile (800m) is next, where juniors can put their skills to the test, and the Junior Giants events are ideal for children aged 10 to 15.
2022 Sunshine Coast Anywhere Festival: 29 April – 8 May
The Anywhere Festival is a one-of-a-kind global and local cultural experience for all. Except for the theatre, the artists can perform wherever they want during the festival. So, how do they fare? Performances are in local businesses and homes. There are several events planned, including Caprichos.
The Caprichos is D.I.V.E. Collective’s masquerade performance, inspired by Francisco de Goya’s “Los Caprichos,” which combines literature, movement, music, philosophy, provocative narratives, multi-lingual perspectives and visual arts. The show will take place at the Old Ambulance Station. Another is the reimagined musical Little Shop of Horrors, produced by de Jager Productions and Cope Creative, which will be a spectacular production not to be missed at Montessori International College.
The Bloody Long Walk: 5 June 2022
Would you like to walk 35 kilometres along a spectacular course in The Bloody Long Walk Sunshine Coast 2022? The Bloody Long Walk is a fully supported course that includes water views, postcard-worthy beaches, and other amenities.
The walk begins at Coolum Beach and continues along the scenic Sunshine Coast beaches, providing numerous stunning ocean views. Then take a stroll along the beautiful Maroochy River to the picturesque Alex Forest conservation area. And finish your journey at the breathtaking Mooloolaba Beach.
Kokoda Challenge: 18-19 June 2022
The Kokoda Challenge is holding three massive events, all based in sunny Queensland Catch annual as it heads to the Sunshine Coast for the first time in 2022. The Kokoda Challenge will commence with a commemorative service to honour Kokoda veterans and the other men and women in service.
Take note, the is postponed to 18 June to 19 and will be in Imbil State Forest with three courses: 18k, 30k and 48k. The course map will be released closer to the event weekend. The 18km distance will have one checkpoint, the 30km distance will have three checkpoints, and the big 48km distance will have four checkpoints.
