The Big Pineapple
The Big Pineapple is a heritage-listed tourist destination located at Nambour Connection Road, Woombye, Sunshine Coast Region. Peddle Thorp and Harvey, Paul Luff, and Gary Smallcombe and Associates were responsible for its design. The original opening date of the 16-meter (52-foot) tall, 2-level Big Pineapple was August 15, 1971.
The Big Pineapple site is open daily from 9 am to 4 pm if you want to see it up close and take pictures. The Big Pineapple location is free to visit. However, admission to the Wildlife HQ and the TreeTop Challenge course are separate costs.
Wildlife HQ
Both native and exotic animals call Wildlife HQ their home. The narrative of Wildlife HQ is comparable to that of Noah’s Ark. The enormous task of transporting 200 animals from Alma Park Zoo to their new residence at Wildlife HQ was undertaken by zoo owner Julie Seabrook and her crew of committed Keepers.
Visitors to the zoo can explore the naturalistic grounds and get up close and personal with some truly unusual and fascinating animals because it is in a tranquil rainforest setting. Take advantage of the opportunity to meet the Keepers and discover new facts about your favourite animals. There are talks for the keepers of the spider monkey, sun bear, and hamadryas baboon.
TreeTop Challenge
Take advantage of the opportunity to participate in the TreeTop Challenge while at the Big Pineapple. Prepare to raise your adrenaline level and overcome your fears.
With over 30m on the highest courses, the TreeTop Challenge is within 10 acres of breathtaking coastal rainforest providing spectacular views from the tree canopy. You will experience 120 thrilling high ropes games during your epic half-day adventure while gliding along 12 ziplines that range in length from 20 meters to 140 meters.
Are you excited to experience all these? Then plan early and book your stay at Sunshine Coast Motor Lodge!
